News from IES Nacka Junior Club
Thursday, November 24, 2011 - 3:46pmIt is already the middle of November and the end of term is sneaking up on us! We had an excellent Halloween party and the students really enjoyed themselves! We have been really busy planning new activities until the end of term.
Our first new activity coming up is the Junior Club News Report. Children in Junior Club will work together as a group to create a news report that will be shown on Mondays. They will be presenting the weather, our lunch and snack menus, and also be doing a special piece, where they walk around the school asking students and staff the question of the week.

We will also be hosting our Egg Drop Competition. The children will be given an egg, and they must build around it to ensure it does not break when thrown from our window, 2 floors up. We have asked that they search around their homes for what they think will keep their egg safe.
Next week, we will have staff from all over IES Nacka coming to Junior Club to hold different activities. Some of these activities are cool science projects, theatre, textiles, guitar lessons, and origami.
Coming up in week 49, we will be having a holiday themed week. The children will be able to make videos and decorations relating to the winter season, and their holiday traditions.
Week 50, before we go on our winter break, we will be having a spirit week. Each day we will have a different theme, where the kids can dress up according to theme, and we will play games and watch movies.
Another new activity that will be starting is the Textiles club. This club will meet once a week, and with the help from our textiles teacher Ms.Hall, they will learn new techniques and do some small projects. Our students have been very interested in knitting.
Best Regards,
Junior Club
