Holy Shrines of the FutureFor the last full week of school, our students in years 8-9 had their PRAO week. Mentors that went out to visit them on location were very impressed to see our students hard at work making coffee, looking after children and helping customers in stores. Overall, the students had a productive and imformative week.

As for the years 4-7, the school had a "theme week" with the focus on the Future. The students in years 4-5 have been thinking about how life would be on their imaginary planets, what kind of inventions that they would need and how the planet would be run. They have made a brochure in English, made a "tittskåp"  in science and civics, and done the script for the their commercials in Swedish. The older students have had other activities in their subject classes, for example, in Social Sciences, they have designed a house in the future, complete with alternative energy sources. In Woodcrafts, they have designed and built architectual structures of the future. And in Modern Languages, the students imagined themselves 20 years from now living in a French or Spanish speaking country. They wrote a letter to a friend to tell them about their lives, talking about their families, their jobs, studies, hobbies, and some of the traditions of the country they were living in.

It has been an exciting and creative way to end a great fall term here at IES Nacka!
