20180522: Sports Day Update: Congrats 7D!

Congratulations 7D!

You "rocked it" on Sports Day!  We are so proud of your accomplishments on the field as well as the good sportsmanship and fantastic teamwork you displayed off the field.

You worked so well together as a team which is one of the reasons you won the Year 7 Relay Race (as well as being incredibly fast!)  Keep up the great work!

Kind regards,

Mr. Högkvist and Ms. Stray

(7D Mentors)

Sports Day is an annual event for year levels 6-9 where students participate in various track and field events (ex. 100 yard dash, hurdles, free throw, relay race).  This year's event was held on May 21 and 22 at Hammarbyhöjdens IP.

IES Nacka Science project - in cooperation with KTH Royal Institute of Technology

The study is “studying the effects of responsive joint attention in social robotics” by Andre Pereira, Leonor Fermoselle, Joakim Gustafson from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The task consisted of a game in which the student tries to use special reasoning to solve a puzzle alongside a Furhat Robot.

This is a state of the art artificial intelligence system and involvement in this project may stimulate students’ interest and curiosity to want to learn more about computer science and technology.

The project is funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Program: BabyRobot Grant No. 687831.

Health & Movement class

”Health and Movement” classes, which are offered once a week to Year Levels 4-8, offer a time for students to focus on their general well being.  Class topics range from yoga, eating habits, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, growth mindset and dance...(as you can see some YL6 students are enjoying with Mr. Högkvist!)
